Hi!
My name is Carole Hallett Mobbs and I am a "trailing spouse".
This delightful title is bestowed upon me courtesy of my husband's job which takes him on postings overseas (from Britain). Therefore, I "trail" after him... not necessarily a happy situation for a once fiercely independent and fully self-employed individual.
We have a 10 year old daughter (going on 13 in attitude), a Japanese Shiba Inu dog and a British tabby cat, all of whom add hilarity and a certain amount of stress to my life.
Naturally, this blog will be about our life in Berlin, with possibly more than a few references back to Tokyo and the UK.
We moved to Germany from Japan in April 2011. Yes, we were in Tokyo for the Great Tohoku Earthquake of March 11th 2011.
You can read about our life in Tokyo by visiting Japanory, the blog I optimistically started some time after arriving there. It is woefully behind with two full years missing at the moment. The massive earthquake on 11th March 2011 prompted me to start blogging in real time for a change.
Hopefully I will be able to keep Berlinfusion reasonably up to date while also trying to fill in the blanks on Japanory and attempting to find a way to earn some money. I'm currently an under-employed freelance writer and am in the process of writing a book.
I'm also on Twitter. Click the bird and come and join my 140 character rambles on there too!
Where else? Oh yes, I'd be grateful if you would consider following Berlinfusion on Networked Blogs too. It makes me feel as if my writings are looked at, even occasionally.
Thanks for visiting! Please come back soon.
